Signing in & finding your way
Log in to the Hub, get your bearings, and find the section you need.
You've just been given access to your school's Education Hub and you want to sign in for the first time and learn where everything lives. This guide gets you logged in, then walks you around the screen so the other guides have somewhere to point you back to.
Before you start
You need your school's web address (your school admin will share it) and an account that's already been set up for you. Staff sign in either with a Microsoft 365 account or with an access code sent to your email — whichever your school uses. If you can't get in, ask your school admin to confirm your account exists.
Step 1: Open your school's address
Type your school's web address into your browser. You'll land on the Staff Access screen, with your school's name and logo.
Step 2: Sign in
You have two ways in:
- Microsoft 365 — the main button on the Staff Access screen. Click it and sign in with your school Microsoft account.
- Access code — if you sign in with a code instead, click Have an account? Sign in with your access code. at the bottom.
No password to remember
The access-code route doesn't use a fixed password. You enter your details and the Hub emails you a fresh code each time, so there's nothing to forget.
Step 3: Get your one-time code (access-code route)
On the Staff Login screen, type your Access code or email into the box. When the Hub finds your account it shows a small card with your name to confirm it's you. Click Send code.
Step 4: Enter the code
The screen changes to Enter your code and the Hub emails you a 6-digit code. Type it into the six boxes, then click Verify & sign in.
Didn't get it?
Check your junk folder. If it still hasn't arrived, click Resend code. Picked the wrong account? Click Use a different account to start over.
Step 5: Land in your hub
Once you're in, you arrive at your Hub — your home screen. From here, everything is reachable through the bar down the left and the strip across the top.
Step 6: Read the left sidebar
The sidebar is grouped by area so you can find things quickly:
- Dashboard — your everyday screens: Hub (home), Classrooms and My Subjects if you teach, People (which opens up to Staff, Students and Guardians), and Rover, the built-in assistant.
- Manage — the school's structure: Academic Year, Departments, Enrolments, Classes, Subjects and Grading.
- Bursary — fees and payments: Payment Gateways and Payment Items.
You only see what you're allowed to
The sidebar shows the sections your role can use, so yours may be shorter than a colleague's. If a section you expect is missing, ask your school admin about access.
Step 7: Switch campus (if you work across more than one)
At the top of the sidebar you'll see the current campus name and academic year — and it's a menu: click it to view a different academic year (a blue border and a "Viewing… — back to current" pill appear so you always know when you've left the current year; see Switch academic years). If your school has several campuses and you can reach more than one, a Switch Campus button appears at the bottom of the sidebar — use it to move between them.
Step 8: Use the top bar
Across the top of every screen you'll find:
- The breadcrumb trail, showing where you are.
- Chat with Rover, the assistant, for quick help.
- A notifications bell.
- A light/dark toggle.
- Your profile picture at the far right — click it to view your account or sign out.
What happens next
You're signed in and oriented. Your home Hub is one click away in the sidebar, and from the groups above you can reach people, classes, subjects and the bursary as your role allows. From here, follow whichever task guide fits what you came to do.
